Hey, ever been stuck staring at a silo so clogged it’s practically mocking you? That’s where we come in. Back in late January 2017, for instance, we—Molemaster Services out of Marietta, OH—dropped a game-changer at the International Production & Processing Expo in Atlanta. Specifically, we handed over our Junior™ 360° whip machine to Kansas State University’s Feed Management program. Yep, a full-on silo cleaning technology for education move. It’s not just about clearing bins; rather, it’s about giving students the tools to tackle material buildup like pros—and trust me, that’s a win worth talking about over coffee.

Training That Packs a Punch

Since 2015, our crew—Dan Bruenderman and Michael Bailey—has been trekking to KSU, showing Feed Technology II students how to bust silo bridging and keep bins flowing smoother than a freshly greased conveyor. Now, with the Junior 360 in their hands, they’re cleaning year-round without risking a climb into the eight-story beast that is the O.H. Kruse Feed Technology Innovation Center. Here’s why that matters: no more confined-space nightmares. Instead, it’s just safe, efficient ops and students who actually get it. Michael puts it best: “This keeps the pilot mill humming while, at the same time, giving kids real-world skills.”

Silo Cleaning Technology for Education: Meet the Junior 360

So, what’s this Junior 360° whip machine? Picture a ninja with a tiny, five-inch cutting head—small enough to slip into ratholes tighter than a rush-hour traffic jam, yet tough enough to whip buildup into submission. KSU got the JR360H, a hydraulic beast, although we’ve got a pneumatic JR360P for other gigs too. Portable as heck, it rolls up to any bin, letting students ditch the textbook and, instead, get gritty with pro-grade gear. Dr. Charles Stark at KSU says it best: “They’re running real equipment, safely and smartly.”

How It All Started

Rewind to 2015. KSU’s O.H. Kruse Center had two bins choked with material—like a bad case of silo indigestion. They called us, so we rolled in with the Junior 360, and bam—blockages gone, sidewalls sparkling. Dr. Stark saw the magic and said, “Let’s make this a thing.” Consequently, we kicked off annual training sessions for his Feed Tech II class. Now, students like Ryan Lierz are hooked. “Companies use this tech,” Ryan told us. “Plus, I can run it and teach it.” That’s the kind of spark we live for.
